Job Summary:

Perform General ledger responsibility for multiple Griffin operating companies:

Reconcile general ledger accounts to subledger systems (cash, accounts receivable, revenue, etc.)

Ensure accrual accounts balances are accurate and sufficient, post journal entries as necessary, such has bad debts, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and unearned revenue

Maintain film amortization and film payables balances and schedules

Post other miscellaneous monthly journal entries

Review intercompany transactions for accuracy and reasonableness

Record fixed asset entries and depreciation

Approve and code expense invoices

Prepare monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement

Document support for all Balance Sheet month-end account balances

Analyze monthly financials for trends, omissions, significant variances, and fluctuations in account balances and prepare monthly memos (actual to budget, year over year)

Calculate and distribute OKC sales team’s monthly commissions

Post cash receipts journal entries to General ledger for all Griffin operating companies

Post transfers made within the accounts receivable subledger to general ledger

Assist in research of accounting standards and guidance

Maintain vehicle listing for all companies and coordinate with insurance company for adding/removing vehicles from coverage

Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Skills:   Must have thorough knowledge of accounting principles, methods and practices and be able to prepare and complete accurate financial statements; Prior experience with Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90/200) GL package, Biznet reporting, and Wide Orbit traffic system software a plus. Computer skills that include a working knowledge of Microsoft Operating System (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); internet applications and the ability to learn new systems; ability to work well with others; maintain confidentiality; strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Education/Experience:  Accounting or finance degree required.  Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two years’ experience equals one year of education.

Location/Schedule:  Griffin’s Oklahoma City office. Full-Time, generally Monday through Friday 8:00am–5:00pm.

Special Requirements:  Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
