JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for producing high quality and technically compliant on-air product. Maintain on-air equipment with maintenance support. Manage and perform administrative tasks and participate in technical planning. Manage and perform administrative tasks and participate in technical planning. Promote and execute the company’s strategic objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  Work with Engineering management to hire, train, supervise and develop Mastercontrol Technicians. Perform maintenance of master control video server playout systems, automation, switching systems, and ancillary air operations equipment in master control in a coordinated manner with station engineering maintenance personnel. Act as liaison between Operations, Maintenance, and Traffic Departments. Maintain appropriate records to ensure compliance with FCC rules and regulations and station policies. Assist in system design to meet specific station needs. Work a variety of positions and shifts as part of a regular routine. Ensure reliable high quality, technically compliant air product is produced.

 

SKILLS: Oversee the operational aspects of master control; operate transmitter and transmitter facility; tuning satellite feeds; program and commercial ingest. Responsible for ensuring quality control of our product, audio levels, closed captioning, camera shading, as well as any incoming feeds.

 

EDUCATION: Applied Science Degree in electronics, military training, or trade school certificate preferred. Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two years of experience equals one year of education. Experienced and capable of performing maintenance on master control video server playout systems, automation, switching systems, and ancillary air operations equipment in master control in a coordinated manner with station engineering maintenance personnel. Minimum three years television engineering experience or comparable work experience. Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Certifications preferred.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:   This position may require the operation of a company vehicle or personal vehicle for company use, a copy of a current driving record must be provided with the employment application.
