JOB SUMMARY: The perfect candidate is great on the air, has great social media skills, a strategic thinker and has worked in programming as either a Program Director or Assistant Program Director. They should also have extensive knowledge of the classic hits/classic rock format.
At least TWO (2) years of proven success as an on-air talent
Proficient with phone editing, Wide-Orbit, Music Master, Social networking platforms, interviewing, broadcasts and LIVE broadcasts
Strong Digital and Social Media Skills are a must
TWO (2) years as a Program Director, or Assistant Program Director is preferred
HOURS/SCHEDULE: Full-time schedule. Must be flexible to schedule changes due to holidays, vacations, etc.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to work and make vital decisions under pressure; Knowledge of broadcast operations, journalistic standards, and libel laws; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Ability to evaluate and improve programming; Thorough understanding of marketing and brand management as it applies to radio programing; Proficient in use of high impact production elements; Able to maintain highest creative and ethical standards in a high pressure environment; Ability to meet deadlines and strong detail orientation; Computer proficiency.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, communications, Media or another related field. Minimum 2 years in radio broadcasting as a program director, assistant program director.
