HOURS/SCHEDULE: Full time position. Schedule will vary. Must be flexible to schedule changes.


DUTIES:  Prepare timely and accurate weather forecasts.  Create professional, quality weather graphics.  Anchor weathercasts and provide severe weather coverage.  This position requires a working knowledge of severe storm structure and behavior. Applicant must be able to successfully work in a high stress environment during severe weather.  Must produce weather content for website and social media.


SKILLS: Gather analyze and interpret synoptic weather data and computer model input; Evaluate and interpret Met Radar, Doppler Radar, lightning data, and satellite cloud presentations. Present weather information with credible style, including immediate warnings and alerts; Assess facts, react quickly and appropriately on camera.  Must have working knowledge of Baron’s Weather systems.


EDUCATION:  3-5 years On-Air Experience Preferred. Formal education equivalent of BS degree in Meteorology or higher.
