THE ROLE

News Business Admin at News on 6 helps drive the “Ideal Team Player” culture. As a News Business Admin, you will maintain department schedules. Verify and approve time cards and leave records; prepare overtime reports; maintain attendance records for the department.

Prepare annual departmental budget under the guidance of the Content Director as follows:

• Maintain and analyze information; recommend expenditures

• Prepare reports and compile final budget

• Code all Department bills and keep monthly budget spreadsheets

• Produce bi-weekly Overtime reports

 

Perform the following administrative duties:

• Prepare and maintain correspondence and departmental files

• Maintain sensitive files for news department.

• Maintain News department employee records, generate all personnel action requests.

• Monitor departmental hiring procedures and prepare affirmative action reports as needed.

• Maintain inventory and requisition supplies as needed

• Book company travel

• Post news content to Social Media sites

• Handle outside video requests

• Work company switchboard when requested

• Answer viewer email and phone calls under the direction of the Content Director

• Breaking News and Severe Weather responsibilities as assigned by the Content Director

• Prepare reports and compile final budget

 

Prior general office experience required, preferably in a broadcast related environment.  Must have accounting and budgeting skills and attention to detail.  Must have computer skills that include a working knowledge of Microsoft Operating System (Word, Excel, etc.), internet applications, as well as the ability to learn new systems.  Ability to operate a keyboard, copier, fax machine and other office equipment.

High School diploma or equivalent, 1year administrative, accounting and budgeting experience required.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week with benefits. Must be flexible to schedule changes.
