KXII 12 is seeking a sports anchor/reporter working directly under the sports director shooting, editing and reporting on local sports during the week and anchoring sports in our weekend newscasts. You will learn the ropes from an award-winning team, and your material will air in the market’s top-rated newscasts.  General responsibilities include:

Anchoring ˑReporting ˑProducing ˑShooting ˑVideo editing ˑNewswriting (both digital and broadcast) ˑFinding and telling compelling local sports stories ˑWriting and posting multimedia-rich digital news stories and video highlights ˑUpdating personal, as well as occasionally, the station’s social media accounts on local sports items

The right candidate will be comfortable and skilled in front of the camera, whether it be doing live shots in the field or anchoring in studio, a strong copy writer, video editor and shooter, a competent problem-solver, a quick thinker, a good communicator, and most importantly – a master storyteller. Must work well under pressure and on deadline. Knowledge of electronic news gathering, shooting video, & non-linear editing required. Knowledge of broadcast and digital news writing, as well as social media best practices required. Knowledge of sports (rules, leagues, etc.) required.
