Since 1982, Carole Lambert has been the award winning anchor at KTUL in Tulsa. Carole has covered a wide range of stories and is respected by her peers because of her keen sense of right and wrong. Perhaps even more important, Carole is respected by the eastern Oklahoma viewers as “the one they can trust when it really matters.” Her ability to accurately convey the story and what it means to the viewer has been the basis for her ratings success.
Carole’s work in the Tulsa community is legendary. Her compassion as an advocate for the less fortunate has set her apart from others. Since 1990, her weekly series Waiting Child has united over 2500 “special needs” or “hard to place” children with adoptive homes. These children have been in permanent custody of the Department of Human Services, and Carole has been their last hope for a family environment. Carole has also been honored for her work with Tulsa County Children’s Services and the Assistance League of Tulsa, and has emceed dozens of events that have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charitable causes.
The ability to combine journalistic excellence with community service has elevated Carole Lambert to the top of the broadcasting profession. To do it consistently in one market for over 27 years is quite a remarkable accomplishment.
