POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the writer/associate producer is to write scripts and gather information for highly produced newscasts and digital content.  Also, to assist with Assignment Desk duties. Currently, this is a temporary position with the potential to become a regular full-time position.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRMENTS:

Ability to type quickly.
Operate police scanner.
Handle news telephones and other such equipment.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

Writes news stories, produces content, for newscasts, KFOR.com and social media platforms. 
Rolls TelePrompTer for daily newscasts.
Ability to work under extreme pressure & deadlines.
Must keep up with local, state, national & international events. 
Watch local TV news.
Must work individually, as well as part of a team.
Assist on Assignment Desk as needed.  Must be able to hear scanners, answer phones and direct crews to news events.
Must be flexible regarding schedule. Weekends, overnights, holidays, etc.
