KXII 12 is seeking an experienced, dynamic anchor for the market’s longtime #1 morning newscast.  General responsibilities include:

Anchor weekday morning newscast from 5-9AM and midday newscast from 12:00-12:30PM

ˑCopy edit and occasionally write scripts for morning and midday newscasts

 ˑHelp produce midday newscast and fill-in anchor as needed

 ˑPossess great live reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news

 ˑHelp post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.), especially breaking news before 8AM

 ˑAppear at various community events that may occur outside normal shift

ˑServe as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers

Qualifications for this position include:

Prior anchoring and on-air reporting experience preferred. Please include a link to your demo reel in your application. The right candidate will have the ability to anchor every type of story, be willing to book and perform live in-studio interviews, help produce the morning and midday newscasts, write great copy, edit video, and occasionally anchor or report from the field. Must possess strong writing and information gathering skills, be a quick thinker ready for anything, and have strong ad-lib abilities. College degree in related field preferred. Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license.
