Essential Employees Exemption Letters from Dept. of Homeland Security

Back in June we sent all members an updated access letter for essential communications workers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The new guidance references CISA Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers Advisory Guidance, issued on May 19, 2020. Click here for that document. See page 16 for reference to workers who support radio and television service.

Although the new guidance does not specifically address access during protests, broadcasters should feel free to try to use this new letter during the protests. As always, final approval for access will be made at the local level. This is only a letter of recommendation from CISA.

Please contact OAB if you did not receive your access letter.
