THE ROLE

Master Control Operator at News on 6 helps drive the “Ideal Team Player” culture. As a Master Control Operator: operating and monitoring of transmitters in accordance with FCC regulations, monitoring of tower structures in accordance with FAA regulations and accurately maintaining station logs. Monitoring of multiple air paths, operation of on-air switchers, calculation of program timings and recording of satellite feeds utilizing computer server automation systems. Other responsibilities may include shading of various types of cameras and proper setup of microwave paths from ENG/SNG trucks. Operate master control to ensure the quality of all audio and video transmitted or received. Maintain appropriate logs, monitor and manage BCNG feeds. Operate and monitor analog and digital transmitters in accordance with FCC guidelines.

Candidates require strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask efficiently, excellent communication and organizational skills and must be dependable. Knowledge of computers and an aptitude for operating electronic equipment preferred.  Must have an ability to work with names, numbers and symbols, read computer monitor information (words and data), ability to perform manual dexterity tasks with hands, and fingers, work rotating shifts and be on call, ability to lift 50 lbs.

Minimum 1 year prior experience in master control operations preferred.  Must have understanding of video and audio signal parameters. This is a full-time position. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
